WORKING TRIP OF PRESIDENT DMN IN THAILAND

From 5 to 10 February 2023, H.E. Mr. President Dao Manh Nghia attended the Young ASEAN Leaders Policy Initiative (YALPI) at Chulalongkorn University. The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi - Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Of the Kingdom of Thailand, Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn - President of Chulalongkorn University, Ms. Siripa Intavichein - Chairperson for Council of ASEAN Liberals and Democrats Youth, Deputy Spokesperson for Democratic Party (Thailand) cum assistant to Speaker of the House, Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat - Member of Parliament and Leader of Move Forward Party, representatives of the Thailand Foundation and other high-ranking officials.

Under the theme of “Rethinking a Post-COVID-19 ASEAN: An Equitable and Resilient Socio-Economic Recovery”, YALPI intends to address socio-economic inequalities faced by ASEAN which are fundamental to human existence and thus deserve immediate attention from ASEAN countries during the recovery period.

The President DMN played a vital role in drafting White Paper on Food Security for the Post-COVID-19 ASEAN.

In addition, he had the opportunity to visit the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Political Science of Chulalongkorn University.

In particular, in his official visit to Thailand last week, President Nghia made his first official visit to Anderson Mori & Tomotsune (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Bangkok Office) to strengthen relations with Thai lawyers.

Before the end of the business trip, the President DMN had many warm meetings with the CIMB ASEAN Young Leaders and the One Young World Ambassadors in Thailand.
